Altar FLowersThe parishioners who decorate the altar are a spirited group!

There is no established meeting time, all though everyone comes together at least twice a year to "build" the Christmas and Easter Altars.

From Advent and Lent, our primary job is to make sure there are fresh flowers arranged at the Altar in the main sanctuary of church. Other assignments include helping the Prime timers with centerpiece flowers and making special arrangements for weddings.

We welcome new members and can accommodate training by working with a senior partner. Members of the team choose their weeks or months to do arrangements.

Parish Nurse Corner

health

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit? ...Therefore, honor God with your body.” (1Cor. 6:15-20).

During February, we begin our Lenten journey and can use this time to reflect upon our physical activity. Maybe instead of giving up something this year, add something instead. People who regularly exercise live longer and feel better. Physical activity reduces weight, the incidence of cancer, and heart disease. Walking 2 miles a few times a week significantly lowers the risk of death in senior citizens. If you are not exercising, start slowly and share your plan with others. Doing so, increases will power and having the support of others is good for you and good for them. So, if you must give up something for Lent this year, give up the couch!

As a parish it would be an accomplishment to meet our goal and increase parishioner participation. Please pray for a successful campaign. Thank you. Father Prince.
