All families of children enrolled in our Religious Education program must be registered and active parishioners of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish.
The Religious Education program at St. Elizabeth Seton begins in First Grade and continues through the Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation in Seventh Grade. We use a comprehensive series of textbooks and we evangelize through instruction and witness and the Sacraments.
Forming the Faith of our students is essential to building a relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ. Mass attendance is an essential part of building that personal relationship with Jesus. Proper formation of our Parish children can only occur with the firm commitment of Parents or Guardians. As the primary instructors of their children, Parents or Guardians provide the example and support of our Faith for their children.
Grades 1 – 7: Students attend either Tuesday or Wednesday weekly at 4:30 pm – 5:45 pm
Consistent attendance at class is required as only with regularity of attendance can students receive proper formation with the best experience. Student attendance is noted in their record.
Students must not miss more than 4 classes during the school year. If a student will be absent from class due to illness, an email or phone call must be made to the Director of Religious Education prior to class. The week’s chapter must be completed at home prior to the next class.
St Elizabeth Seton Religious Education sends emails to communicate important reminders as well as important information regarding classes. It is imperative that we have an up-to-date email address which is checked often for each family. It is the responsibility of each family to communicate any updates or changes to your email address. Please be sure to mark our email address as “Not Spam” so you will not miss any communications.
Our class schedule follows the Ridgefield Public School calendar for vacations and school closings. If the Ridgefield Public Schools are closed for weather or other issue, our classes will also be canceled. If schools have Early Dismissal, Religious Education classes are canceled.
For any unscheduled class cancellation, the assigned work for that week’s class must be completed at home with parent or guardian supervision.
